Swim Lessons

Carter started his swim lessons this week and is totally loving it. I swear this kid was born to live in the water. He can't get enough of it! But we have to be careful because he has no problem jumping right in, thinking he can swim, without his floaties on. He kept doing that in class yesterday when the teacher was working with another student. It makes me very nervous to have such a fearless kid.

I am not a fan of floaties or rings or anything like them. I think they give kids a false sense of security. My niece slipped out of hers and we just barely rescued her before it was a real problem.

I agree, there is definitly good and bad to that..Its a good thing he is in lessons so he can learn to swim. Have you ever heard about swimming lessons where they teach the kids to roll over (fully clothed mind you) and keep themselves afloat for hours? Sometimes the babies even fall asleep floating.
