Backpack, backpack

Carter picked up this backpack in the store on Saturday and wouldn't let it go. We thought he looked so cute (or we're just suckers and he's spoiled!) so we bought it for him. He did look really cute on Sunday when he walked into church wearing it. He didn't take it off until about 20 minutes into church!

Tri in the Pines

I did a triathlon this last weekend. It was tough but it felt like a great accomplishment after 12 weeks of training. I did it with my brother Spencer, his wife Marlee, and our friend Aaron. Here are some quick highlights...more photos to come later.

Haircut

I went on an overnight business trip last week and came home to a kid with a buzzed head. Sean decided to give Carter a "trim." It's actually pretty cute!

Rocky Point

Last weekend we went to Rocky Point, Mexico with my brother and his wife as well as my sister and her kids. My brother's wife has a family beach house that we stayed at. It was on a private beach and so much fun. Except the time that Sean and Marlee's little brother were stung by a jelly fish!

Dog Fish

While in Rocky Point we went to an Aquarium. They had a huge fish in an open tank called a Dog Fish. It was so mean looking and had huge sharp teeth. Here are some videos the fish jumping up trying to attack!!! Spencer asked the guy who worked there if the fish had bitten anyone before and the guy said several times!

Lake Powell

We just returned from a week long vacation on a houseboat at Lake Powell with the Forsberg clan. It was a lot of fun. Carter loved being in the sand and water all day long. He especially loved Sea Doo and boat rides. And yes, he is wearing Little Mermaid Swimmers in one of the pictures. Sean didn't look at the package of swimmers when he bought them until I pulled them out at the lake. Poor kid had to wear them all week! Good thing he isn't old enough to know the difference yet. A highlight of the trip was when Sean caught his first fish ever!

First Boat Trip

We went to the lake on Grandad's boat this weekend. Carter was a little unsure of his life jacket at first but he got used to it. He loved going over the waves and going fast.

Fourth of July

Carter loved the fireworks! He was fascinated with them when they first started. He kept reaching his arms up to try and grab them.

Our Beach Boy

Here are some pictures from a swimming party we had with some friends at my Mom and Dad's house this weekend. Sean bought Carter the wetsuit he is wearing. We all thought he looked like a little beach boy ready to surf! He loved going down the slide!

My buddy...

This is Carter's favorite chair to sit in and his favorite horse "Tommy" that he sleeps with. One night we were getting ready for bed and I said, "let's get ready for bed Carter." He grabbed the horse and started walking to his room. He has been taking "Tommy" to bed with him ever since. Every night before bed he sits in his chair and drinks his milk while we read stories. Ahhh...the life of a 1 year old!

Happy Father's Day

I made this video for Sean for Father's Day. He is such a great Dad! Carter loves to be around him and has to be involved in any project Sean is working on. I am very lucky to have a husband who is such a great Dad! (just ignore the sideways picture...I'm still learning!)

Funny Face

Carter makes the funniest face when he is trying to blow on you! We finally got it on camera.

Ladies Man or Bug Man?

It's a little hard to read but Carter's shirt says, "Ladies Man." This picture is taken on the front porch of our family cabin. Carter loves to play outside at the cabin. I don't think he liked it as much this weekend when we were there. He was sitting in a chair eating a popsicle, when he started fussing a little and rubbing his ear (he rubs his ear when he gets tired so I didn't think too much of it at first). As I got closer to him I saw little black bugs on his head and flying around him. After getting them all off---I counted 24 bug bites on his head. Poor guy--we had to cover his whole head in calomine lotion that night!
